Sameena is the Founder and Managing Director of Rukban. With over three decades of experience in the financial services sector in the UAE, she led Alpen Capital’s award-winning industry research practice for more than 18 years, covering sectors including retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, insurance and food across the Gulf.

Her work has focused on analysing industries, tracking regional trends and understanding the forces shaping economic and business transformation in the Gulf. The research and reports produced under her leadership were widely cited across regional media and frequently served as a basis for industry discussions, webinars and stakeholder engagement.

Combining research, analysis and narrative intelligence, she is particularly interested in connecting data with context and translating complex developments into clear, evidence-based insights.

As a long-time resident of Dubai, Sameena has witnessed the city’s remarkable transformation into a global hub for business, aviation, tourism, and innovation. This long-term perspective continues to shape her interest in looking beyond headlines, challenging conventional assumptions and providing deeper context to the narratives shaping the region.
